Woodland Furniture was started in 1996 by Lynn and Pat Harker, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. It was Pat Harker, whose experience with her own successful design firm, Harker Design, who inspired the reasoning behind Woodland Furniture, that if she could find a resource that followed these four simple ideals…

…then she knew that not only would she have found an ideal company for her design firm to shop, but that every designer would recognize the value as well.

Woodland was created with this goal. Production began with 4 employees, simple shop equipment and 6,000 square feet. Today’s factory has grown to 185 employees, 80,000 square feet and state of the art technology. In 2000, Woodland was awarded the “Shingo Prize” for excellence in lean manufacturing, the highest recognition a manufacturer can receive.
