An Environmental Management System is a voluntary program that includes management tools and principles to help integrate environmental concerns into daily business practices. The American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) has implemented an Environmental Management System called Enhancing Furniture’s Environmental Culture (EFEC). Similar to ISO 14001, EFEC provides a systematic way of reviewing and improving operations to lower costs, improve performance, and enhance shareholder value. Only a small number of manufacturing facilities are EFEC certified. We’re proud to say that our facilities in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, which manufacture for La-Z-Boy Hospitality, American Drew, and Lea, as well as the facilities of our sister company, Kincaid Furniture, are all EFEC certified.
