In the early nineties I was looking for display fixtures for an Australian line of bath products I was interested in selling. Through a contact in Holland I stumbled upon some iron scroll-work etageres which I thought would be perfect for showcasing my soaps and such.
These racks – along with a trio of recycled glass bell jars in unfinished metal stands – were instantly a big success.
When we realized the potential of these products, Barreveld International gradually enlarged its collection. Working with European designers and distributors, BI stayed ahead of American trends in the home and gift worlds. Today our collections still seem very European, as one who travels to the European shows will surely recognize.
We have continued to expand from our first 10 x 10 foot temporary space at the Atlanta gift show. Now we have showrooms throughout the USA and catering to an increasing list of clients from outside the USA.
After years of concentrating on a more traditional European aesthetic, I personally felt that a need for a more contemporary look/direction. This was the impetus for DK Living, which remains inspired by Northern European style, but emphasizes the contemporary.
We at BI and DKL sincerely hope you enjoy the new web presence of BI and DKL collections.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support in the past years.
One must look forward, while taking into consideration the difficult economic times. We at BI and DKL strongly believe this new format of presentation will be a help in your selection, purchasing, and management of our products.
